Birth of a Snowflake

The Earth begins to tilt and the clouds come together and form a misty gray that doesn’t allow the sunshine to peep through. There is no flash in the sky nor a rumble in the heavens to announce the birth of God’s snowflakes

It doesn’t take long  for the first wafer like flake to appear. Before you can blink yours eyes the flakes multiply into a confetti like parade. It seems they have been waiting for the right time to appear and announce to everyone that this is their season. As the snowflakes rock back and forth and cascade gracefully to the sleeping ground, they all seem to mirror each other, but as they flutter closer to the eye, the flakes of snow differ from each other even though they appeared to be identical in the sky.

As the glitter like flakes continue to descend, they get ready to cover the earth. The snowflakes seem to cling to each other before they touch the frigged ground. Where there was one snow flake now there is a clump, the flakes seem to be holding hands to survive and become part of something new. They no longer look different from one another, because they all have been sewn together to make a shimmering quilt of snow.

Now the glistening blanket of snow can be transformed into dancing snowmen that bring happiness to children on a wintry day. The life of a snowflake is fleeting and short but the memories they give will always last.

Christmas Comfort

The Polar Express is finished and the tree is
ready to welcome Santa Claus.

   Christmas gives us a beginning.
Christmas keeps us young
with past memories and new ones to come. Christmas never gets old because of a special rebirth, "Jesus" who comforts our soul and gives us more than presents under a tree.
Christmas keeps us forever young so we can pass on the spirit and happiness to everyone.  Christmas is not just a season but a timeless piece of our heart.

Merry Christmas to everyone and wrap it up with LOVE!

Boo-tiful Nature

Halloween is here! It seems that everyone and everything is disguising themselves into something they really are not. It started slowly a few weeks before the hallow night but now it is in full flight.

The trees and bushes that had been working on their summer green have been slowly loosing their emerald shroud and now are putting on a multicolored mask. The transformation seems to have happened over night but it is impossible that such magnificent colors could have emerged over night.

The leaves have not changed shape but now hold a color pallet that only God could have derived. A wisp of confused wind filters though the proud transformed trees and flitter to the awaiting arms of the ground below. There is no sound when the leaves congregate on the turf below but they seem to scurry around to find their place on natures dinner plate. There is no need to clean the ground because God will recycle the leaves when no one is around.

Now the trees stand naked and are only caressed by an eerie moon lit night. They are now ready to party on that special scary Halloween night.

Nature's Breakfast

Morning comes as it penetrates the darkness of the night.

The silence is broken by a chirp that doesn’t seem to belong, and then it is followed by a melody of notes that seems to be written just for me. It awakens my soul, and I pick up my head to see the tranquil prisms of sun light weave their way through the morning mist. The air is still, unruffled and is not ready to stir. The morning dew seems to comfort the foliage and make it hard for it to awake.
But then the illumination of light places it’s hands on the dewy grass, uncovers it, and lets it know that it is time rejuvenate everything that is on its plate.

It is natures breakfast that it makes. There is a certain scent in the air that lets me know that breakfast is ready for me to partake. It is a unique fragrance that only morning brings. No spoon or coffee cup needs to be used to fill the void that has been created by the night.

I am ready for nature’s morning meal. All I have to do is smile and be happy with what I have
on my plate.

Happiness is in the Air

When the last confused snowflakes hit the ground
they have no chance to linger now that Spring is around.

Even though the sky is gray, and there is a ting of coolness in the air, there is a new warm melody that penetrated the ground the other day.

The birds are singing a new tune as they wing their way in the sky. The emerald grass below holds the warmth from the other day, and that is why the snow flakes will have no chance to play.

So have your last dance my little snow flakes, because it is someone else who will take your place.

Now it is time for the blades of grass to rumba out of the ground, and the buds finally waltz their way out of the limbs of the naked, boney trees. Even I whistle a new tune today.

            Happiness is in the air!

I am so grateful to the author who created the notes of Spring, for without them nature would not have the
rhythm to perform this unique dance again and again.

Nectar in the Air

When I see a butterfly I feel like I am 10 years old again. It reminds me of sultry days and nothing to do except chase fluttering angel like wings that helped create my happy days.

The wind seemed to    set a tempo for a dance that the butterfly      would do before it hovered and rested on a  flower to enjoy life’s sweet nectar of the day.

The beauty and grace of these colorful wings seemed to only rest when they came together and prayed. It only lasted for a moment, so it must have only said, “Amen”  it then continued on to the next flower and said Amen again.

I have always thought butterflies were happiness that danced in the air, but now I realize there is more. There is a special nectar for me in everyday, and I should put my hands together and pray.
Amen!

Prime Time

There is a juncture in everyones life when time has a special name. I call time friend.
I used to think time was an enemy and I could not wait for the years to pass. I thought time would make things better, and not be held captive in my dreams that I thought would not last.

I was in a hurry to go nowhere fast, the dreams that I thought were so important were only there to make time pass.

Now I call time a friend because of what it has given me; happiness beyond my youthful dreams, a life that is warmed by my grandchildren’s smiles and my timeless wife.

Everyday when I wake up I remember to say good morning to my best friend, TIME.
