Impressions in the Sand

As I dream of the sound of the sea, I begin to hear a rhythmic message washing me. I feel the bubbly tranquil water gliding across the sand and begin to caress my mind of the better things in life. A soft music note begins to weave a soothing  pastel colored blanket that warms my heart and I begin to feel the tepid tranquil water beneath my feet.

As I take a step along the shore I look back to see where my feet have been. The impressions I have made in the compressed sand have started to wash away but with every step I take a new clear image appears on the sandy shore.

I guess the secret to a happy life is to find yourself a beach that you love and keep making impressions and never stop.

Zephyr

If there were no wind what would it mean?

Every day would be calm but is that what we really want?

There would be no freezing winter wind in Chicago

but
there would be no summer breeze to enjoy.

There would be no rag weed to fill our nostrils

but
there would be no Monarch Butterflies riding the wind and flutter to our backyard.

There would be no tree being destroyed on a moonless night

but we would not be able to see a Palm tree dance in the moon light.

Thank goodness we have no choice for God has made it easy for us and

said, “Let there be Wind.”

Time to Leaf

Fall is sneaking up on the end of summer and the leaves are looking exhausted even though they still have the color of summer running through their veins of green.

Each leaf seems to be heavier than a week ago and the branches don’t sway like they did the other day.

Even though the branches don’t have the grace anymore, they still are able to hold onto the shaky, dejected leaves for an other day.

As the Autumn color palette arrives they are able to transform into butterfly color pigments that are hidden inside

Finally the day has come and the leaves
are ready for an autumnal display of color.

SLEEPY BALLERINAS

It is a still and comfortable 73 early August degrees. There is a gentle lullaby wind undulating through the sleepy ballerina like flowers on the slender, athletic branches of my miniature trees.
They seem to be getting ready to help the Disney like pinkish white flowers start a pirouette.

The sky has no blemishes but it looks as though there is a clear satin spayed over the blueish
heavens.

The sounds around me seem to be muffled, the jets that fly over head every once in a while seem to be more of a shush than a whoosh. The birds that are chirping sound more like a quiet good night rather than a morning roster tweet.

All of this brings my life into a place that I don't visit enough.

I know the flowers on the trees won't stay ballerinas for much longer and summer will soon take a well deserved curtain call.
