Loss of Vision E C D G O 20

2020 has come and almost gone and Christmas is here no matter what. I have a sleeping joyous feeling that needs to come alive but it is very hard time to let it out. Everything seems to be all left when I know it should be all right. I seem to be confused with what 2020 has given me but I hope its just something that happens when people forget how to live when they are out of sight.

The masks that we have been given to protect our breath also have been pulled up to high and now some don’t see the true light. Hate of everything that doesn’t conform with your thoughts is what it is all about.

The same people that don’t want God in our country still celebrate Christmas but no longer remember what Christmas is all about.

Anger has taken the place of understanding and everyone thinks they are right. Individuals think they can camouflage their words behind a flowered mask but it does not stop the excrements that come out of their mouth. Nothing seems to be morally good anymore. Innocent  citizens of our country are being punished for the sins of someone else and the mea culpa’s are never enough.

Knocking down the statues

has become a video game

and has nothing to do with what is right.

You can never wipe out history, destruction is not the building block of the future, it only reaffirms your the past. I think we should all rethink what Christmas and life is all about and maybe we will have special                                                         Holiday and Country in our                                                         heart.

Chirp Chirp Zzzz

Morning has come but the night is still asleep. My dreams are over and I lay here listening to the sounds that are magnified by the still of the night.

I hear a soft rumble of thunder that undulates through the air and a sleepy indecisive shower of rain begins to fall. If the birds are chirping I don't hear them at all.

Their songs of the morning are being washed away by the muffling sound of the groggy rain, but as I continue to listen I hear a slight tweet in between the raindrops.

The more I tune in and begin to count the chirps, the more they rock me back to sleep.

Colors of Happiness

The smile of a new day is written across the Golden Sky and it filters unto the water then covers the palette that we all hold in our hearts.

A deep breath and a smile that almost touches my ears awakens the colors that are in my soul. They compliment the embroidered colors of the sky.  I have been saving these zesty shades of colors for a while.

Now, I have enough not only to see the light but also feel the colors of happiness that are in my life.

Taste of July

It's a hot 2020 summer 7th of July day. It happens to be the same day in 1954 when my family and I arrived at my future US home.

My parents had been pushed around from the Ukraine to Germany,  DP's as they were known and finally ended up in France after the war. Now it was my turn to leave a country and find a new home. I felt no pain because I had just turned five and had no idea what was in my parents mind.

I don't remember too much but one thing sticks in my mind as we were boarding the train I saw my cousin of 9 with tears in his eyes and he began to cry but I on the other hand had no idea what all of this meant so all I could say to him was, "Please don't cry or we'll never see each other again".

I don't remember leaving the station in Southern France it was like magically being transported and ending up on a Parisian toilet bowl that I had never seen before. Our home which were barracks used to imprison German officers during the war and now were used as homes for coal miner families, which my father was. Our four room home had a master bathroom with an elegant toilet with
sloping triangular concrete walls leading to a magical hole that made things disappear. It was made especially for squatters. The good thing was that it was not in the forest. I guess this is why I was so impressed with this kingly throne in Paris.

A day and night in Pairs is all we had, on to Belgium is where we had to be. That's were our Sabrina Airline flight was going take off and take us directly to a place that I would call home.

Nineteen hours latter our four propped Sabrina touched down in a land called New York. I don't remember any part of the flight but I do know it was not the end of the road.I didn't see the Statue of Liberty but I did follow her from the country I was born in and now I was going to leave her and board a train to Chicago to start a new life.

I don't remember any sounds of clatter of the tracks but I do remember the crusty crackle of a freshly made sandwich filled with the best tasting ham I ever had. The taste and fragrance lasts to this day. LIFE has been special from the first bite on the train that July 7th and will last to all the July 7th to come.

Eye Am a Pupil

A world filled with people and we still feel alone. Locked up with our thoughts, feelings, invisible walls and waiting for this nightmare to vanish.

If you leave your home you must dress like a surgeon. The world has no more fingerprints and the masks we wear hide our smiles if we had one to share.

Although we cannot get closer than 6 feet our eyes are the only thing that express what is going on.

Fear, anxiousness, worry is embedded in many but I also see strength, courage, hope and a smile that shines within the eyes. That is what we all need and what we need to give
\

Our lips can lie, our hands can be used as evil tools but our eyes truly express what is in our soul.

Spirng Time Dinner Plate

While looking out my window and trying to be understanding why springtime always throws a damper on what it supposed to be, I suddenly saw confused snow flakes begin to pellet down on a carpet of newly seeded green grass.

The darting cold flakes rudely interrupted a Robin from plucking a wiggling worm from the pallet beneath her shaky limb like feet.

The puzzled Robin looked up to the sky and seemed to be looking for an answer Why?  Empty beak and all, the orange breasted bird seemed to be wondering if she was to early for spring, or if the flakes were a special spring time seasoning salt.

Confused as the Robin may be, she scampered across the lawn but did not flee. She found a comfortable place to wait and seemed to know that when the flakes of pastry finished falling it would make her dinner great.

Crack in the Sky

The tree buds are beginning to smile and the Sun is warming the air

and slowly begins to surround our bodies that have been put through a winter's scare.

The skies that have been so Grey seem to be fighting to keep the blue away.

Just a small crack in the sky is all we need to get rid of the frost that seems to be covering us everyday.

It is not just us who have been waiting for these special days but also the birds whom are finally tweeting a melody of spring and finally begin building a place to nest.

The first Robin that I see gives me an assurance that Springtime is here.

I believe the blue in a Robins egg comes from a Springtime crack in the sky.
